Chair for a Guest – Martin Zet / lecture, discussion
GREEK-ROMAN CURSE a.k.a. the ridiculousness of the concept of the national, cultural and personal independence (debut of the book Saluto Romano, published by Prácheňský o.s. with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic) Martin Zet is a personality which is impossible to overlook at the Czech art scene. He is at the same time an artist whom we do not meet in the galleries excessively often. His works are hard to classify – he moves between installation, video art and photography as far as to works in the open space. The execution of his art is frequently conditioned by a place or a situation where the artist is at the given moment; he is perfectly capable of responding to the up-to-date social situation as well as of entering into a dialogue with landscape. He does all this with a high measure of freedom in his artistic expression. The discussion is moderated by Ondřej Horák. Free entrance. 17 March 2009, 8 p.m. Meet factory, Prague 5.
