May 08 | '13 | Painter Mikulka won a prestigious award from the British Royal Society
The British Royal Society of Portrait Painters awarded the hyperrealistic self-portrait with the main award and £ 20,000.
The Czech painter Jan Mikulka, who is a graduate of the Zdeněk Beran studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, was awarded by a jury of three experts. Mikulka's work that surprises with its craftsmanship, photorealistic form and even photographically clean quality is according to the jury a portrait of a determined artist who is fully concentrated. Mikulka is not unknown in London, in 2013 his picture won in the poll of visitors to the London National Portrait Gallery.
