Chair for a Guest / Judith Haman a Heiner Metzger
Since April 2009 about 150 artists have been inhabiting the FRAPPANT building, formerly a shopping mall. They hold exhibitions, concerts and film festivals. Now the building is about to be demolished. The Hamburg art scene fights this decision by organizing public actions, demostrations, art performances and by making strategies on connecting and preserving open art spaces.
The next Guest Chair offers the unique opprotunity to acquaint with the Hamburg independent scene and to compare the approach of city councils, the artist’s demands and possible solutions with the Czech environment.
The Hamburg art scene will be represented by the visual artist Juditha Haman and the musician Heiner Metzger (the director of the Binzelbar gallery seated in Frappant) In addition, they will present their project WIRSINDWOANDERS#3 (We are elswhere#3) from various institutions from other cities and countries about their situation, their works and the possiblity of their mutual connection.
The presentation will be held in German and translation to Czech will be provided.
Free entrance.
We are looking forward both to your visit and your questions.
