Tomáš Císařovský | The Village of Líbeznice | 2004 | Oil Painting | 120 x 160 cm | Painting | Contemporary art |
Industrial landscape in the unsightly Prague environs or, more particularly, the pseudo small city of Líbeznice, became one of the subjects of painting series by Tomáš Císařovský. Both the ugliness of the given locality and the lethargy of its inhabitants as well as their inability to perceive their close environment are interpreted by the painter via simple symbolic of buildings and kitschy color scale that elevates the desolate place to romantic scenery.
