Late 80's Dokoupil decided to give up traditional painting - after spending some months painting in the woods of Canary Islands, face to face with Nature he recognized his limits as a classical painter. From that moment on he has been looking for over a year for a new technique. Silla oscura and Silla clara are one of early Dokoupil's Candle paintings.
