The portrait of the French comedian Louis de Funes whose movies used to mesmerize Czech public during Lysáček’s youth is one of the paintings from the artist’s pop-icon series. Lysáček brilliantly employs innovative technologies reminiscent of the complex method of classical painting, combining them with various non-traditional materials which, in this case, is the copic marker on layers of rubber bands which results in almost holographic effects.
