The “Nelson Bench” was designed by George Nelson during the 1950s. Its form was inspired by Japanese furniture and its clean straight lines reflect Nelson’s experience with architecture. The item can serve both as a bench and a desk tray. It is made of ash wood and the bottom part is varnished in black. The desk, constructed as a grid, comes in natural varnish. Apart from the basic size, Vitra also produces a prolonged version.
