Maxim Velčovský | Koala Moneybox | Royal Dux in Duchcov | 2005 | Porcelain | 17 cm | Porcelain | manufacturer's trademark | Design | price: EUR 548 incl. VATAdd to My CollectionAsk about this artifact |
The “Koala Bear” climbing a tree branch ranks to the collection of money boxes which Maxim Velčovský designed for studio Qubus. The designer refers to the period of the 18th century when a porcelain figure was an exclusive object of an immense value and was thus solely affordable for the noble or the richest classes. The head of the kitschy figure of a koala, originating from the mid-20th century, was added with a slot for inserting money, which actually increases its price.
