The Pair of Gum Boots originated as part of Maxim Velčovský’s dissertation and it ranks to his smartest designer acts until today. In this case, the designer again works with the contrast between the form of an ordinary object of everyday use and the high-quality glazed porcelain, i.e. the material which it has been transformed into. The generally despised gum boot thus turned into a luxurious vase an object which originally prevented water to get inside, now holds it. Also interesting is that the designer does not deal with the real form of the gum boot but with its slightly deformed shape. The number of the desired material is limited.
