The rectangular base bears the figure of a half-kneeling slim naked girl who takes up water into her palms and is just about to drink. The sculpture is executed in the characteristic Art Deco style and is white. The author of the design is German academic painter Ernst Wenck who worked for the Bavarian porcelain factory Rosenthal in the late 1920s. The figure on display originates from the Rosenthal art department during the post-war period, as is suggested by the mark Rosenthal, Kunstabteilung Selb Germany.
