Skier is probably the most artful sport figure designed by Jiří Černoch for the Duchcov porcelain factory. The figure of a man stands on a plinth representing a section of a steep slope and is clad in the contemporary sport dress, including the characteristic ski cap and glasses. We can mainly appreciate the excellent capturing of motion just while the man makes a curve and his focused expression. These features also make us easily imagine the ski sticks which can be inserted into the prepared holes. They must be from a different material, for their thinness would not survive burning. The sculpture on display was produced in a small series in the Duchcov porcelain factory in the mid-1960s.
