The figure of a swan originates from Ježek’s rather static period in the early 1960s. It more emphasizes elegance and majesty of the depicted bird than motion. The plinth in this case substitutes the bottom part of the body which is stylized into aerodynamic lines reminiscent of the contemporary design of ships and cars. The almost straight neck is enclosed by a totally abstract head in which one can discern a swan with only significant portion of fantasy. As is suggested by the sign Royal Dux Czechoslovakia, the figure is a product of the Duchcov porcelain factory from the 1960s. Besides the white variant, there exists a less usual, black and white version and also a very rare swan with color printed decoration.
