The chair of the “DSS” version is part of the collection “Eames Plastic Side Chair” which departs from the legendary “Fibreglass Chair”, designed by Charles & Ray Eames’ in 1948. In 1993, Vitra changed the composition of its material which is today fully recyclable. The polypropylene shell of the “DSS” rests on four legs of chromium-plated steel whose profile is reminiscent of the alphabet D. This construction makes the chair stockable. The item comes in several color variants, while the version without chromium plating is offered for the outdoor use.
