Mark Wallinger

Mark Wallinger is one of the leading artists on Britain’s contemporary art scene. He represented Britain at the 2001 Venice Biennale. Wallinger is a conceptual artist working with many media. His work employs a number of themes, primarily social ones. In recent years, he has mainly engaged in video and multimedia installations. In Prague, he displayed his video Threshold to the Kingdom in the National Gallery in Prague, which had been shown at the Venice Biennale. Wallinger’s minor painting or sculpture work is rare. He was awarded the prestigious British Turner Prize in 2007.
