The “Multiply” series was executed by direct photographic reproduction of details of plastic tablecloths. Dušan Šimánek imbued them with new, Pop-Art dimension, at the same time elevating the simple, naïve ornaments to high art. This post-modern position is rather exceptional in the artist’s oeuvre.
