The vase is made of thick-walled, faceted manganese glass. The upper third features a die-stamped (oroplastic) band decoration depicting Amazon warriors. The vase was produced around 1925, when the glassworks fully embraced the Neo-classical style introduced largely by the plant’s young owner Leo Moser. The combination of thick-walled colored glass decorated with a facet cut and a gold band was fully in keeping with the aesthetic idiom of the emerging Art Deco style.
