The sculpture representing two wrestlers was carved of alabaster in Italy in the early 1920s. It is a minimized copy of the famed marble group sculpture from the period of the Roman Republic which is, in turn, a copy of the lost Greek original from the 3rd century B.C. The sculpture was created from a single piece of stone and it represents two young, naked wrestles whose physical features are displayed into utmost detail. Several fingers on the hand of one of the youths are, however, missing.
