Moser Vase | Moser | 1930 | Alexandrit Glass | 23 x 17 x 17 cm | Art Deco | Glass | Moser Carlsbad | Antiques |
The item on display is a very atypical Moser vase – it is made of alexandrite glass, i.e. glass exclusively used by this company. The specific character of this glass is that its color varies depending on light conditions, switching from pink-violet to grey-blue. The vase in the form of a goblet rests on an octagonal base resulting in a short leg which then gradually continues in an ovoid dome, while the latter is decorated with an interesting cut that evokes a flower in half-blossom. This rather demanding cut then continues to the edge of the vase where it eventually results in sixteen points.
