Josep Renau: "Master of Photomontage" | Prague | Institut Cervantes v Praze | 23/04 - 30/06/09
Josep Renau (1907–1982) became one of the most significant artists using photomontage as the method of artistic expression, via which he was able to create works with sharp critical and political undertows. The exhibition, jointly organized by the Institute of Modern Art Valencia (IVAM) and Institute Cervantes, offers a selection from the artist’s oeuvre, at the same time reflecting the aesthetic, ideological and technological motives of his era. The selection is divided into three sections presenting the total of 67 works which Josep Renau executed in the three cities where he lived and worked: Valencia, Mexico City and Berlin.
