The second exhibition organized in the Gallery of the City of Blansko this year presents the most recent works by Jakub Špaňhel, the noticeable painter of the younger generation. Since his graduation, Špaňhel has been consistently involved in the medium of painting via which he deals with particular subjects in series: for instance, interiors and exteriors of sacral buildings and gas stations at night. He treats his subjects in virtuoso expressive technique, mainly characteristic of dark shades reminiscent of Baroque chiaroscuro. In Blansko, the artist introduces his subject of a golf green along with his paintings from the cycle entitled “Banks”. He was involved in painting the buildings of the most significant world financial institutions during the past two years.
