Pavel Brazda - An Example from the Human Comedy | Prague - 5.patro Gallery | Pavel Brázda | 06/02 - 07/03/09
Pavel Brázda has finally begun to be perceived as one of the most distinctive personalities of Czech fine arts of the latter half of the 20th century. His works depart from his very specific approach to Figural Realism in which he combines dreamy visions and a testimony of general humanist message of both light and dark side of human mind. The present exhibition, conceived directly for the Prague Gallery on the 5th Floor, mainly focuses on the artist’s most recent works based on the process of gradual visual concretizing and at the same time abandoning visual fantasies. Brázda’s oeuvre is characteristic of an exceptional continuity in subjects, and the Prague exhibition illustrates this via confronting several of his earlier and most recent paintings. In the course of the recent years, Brázda proved capable of addressing new viewers from the ranks of the young audience thanks to his pressing and vigorous morphology. It can thus be assumed that his latest exhibition will meet with great response not only from the traditional public but also the young generation.
