Pitín in hunt kastner artworks The private Prague gallery hunt kastner artworks presents a new exhibition of works by painter Daniel Pitín, “Men in a Garden”, which takes us to the world of movie backdrops – similarly as is the case of the artist’s previous paintings. Pitín in the exhibition combines paintings, his own diaries from the 1960s, and the media of video and architecture, installing wooden boards and planks in the gallery space and paintings only subsequently, on the pieces of wood. The artist was not only inspired by the commonplace practice in film studios but also by the popular cottagers’ colonies still frequent in his native country. A similar principle of gluing together various materials is employed by Pitín in his works that use various motifs composed into a painting. “Men in a Garden” are a metaphor of our common memory and consciousness where we came to constantly keep digging for something or someone.
