Reactor by Jakub Nepraš Jakub Nepraš prepared his video installation entitled “Reactor”, which develops on his 2002 project “Internet Reactor”, for the space Vernon Project. Nepraš composed this structure of an accidental TV broadcasting, which enfolds in a dark space dependently on the shape which the artist determined for it beforehand. The video installation consists of numerous frames of a delayed TV program that was designed here to work as a symbol of our era; a symbol which we, however, cannot either influence or enter. The basic shape employed in the installation is circle that allows for the illusion of both centrifugal and centripetal motion. It is reminiscent of a backward eddy which constantly changes its color and the inner motion of its particles. The result is a gargoyle, or “Reactor”. Jakub Nepraš, “Reactor” Vernon Project, Prague
