Jaroslav Valecka - Nightmares | Kolin, Czech Republic | Qubus | 15/01 - 25/02/09
Valečka in the city of Kolín Two Kolín galleries, V Zahradě (In the Garden) and Minigalerie u Zlaté štiky (the Golden Pike Mini Gallery) present the most recent work by the young artist Jaroslav Valečka (1972) at the exhibition entitled after one of the paintings of this graduate of Jiří Sopko’s studio at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts. Valečka specializes in representative landscape painting and drawing. He is faithful to the classical form and his expression can be described as lyrical expression. Apart from the landscapes that prevail in his oeuvre, he also professes figurative work. The most frequent of the latter are rural motifs and dreamy night scenes inhabited by mysterious figures and inspired by the regions of Sudetenland and especially the Lužické Mountains.
