Sykora in Klatovy An almost complete collection of works by one of the most famous and most sought-for Czech artists, Zdeněk Sýkora, is currently on display in Klatovy. The exhibition was preceded by two exhibitions of smaller extent, held in Příbram and Olomouc. Sýkora the painter gradually switched from Abstraction to structures that followed the line of mathematic accidents. He employed the same method in his prints whose forms are linked with the artist’s painting oeuvre. The most famous prints by Sýkora probably are his geometric, two-colored structures and his later, multi-colored lines whose morphology entered the insider’s awareness long ago. The special bonus of the Klatovy exhibition is the section devoted to the documentation of the process of origination of Sýkora’s prints. The viewers will be introduced to the method of an accident which is also computer-generated to the technology that transforms these information to a material. Most of the exhibited prints originate from private collections. Zdeněk Sykora, Prints Galerie U Bílého jednorožce [White Unicorn Gallery], Klatovy 9 November 2008 – 4 January 2009
