Stanislav Diviš | Kuřim - Castle, Ad astra Galerry, Czech republic | 10/09 - 12/10/08
Stanislav Diviš in ad astra After the summer holidays, the gallery ad astra in Kuřim presents paintings by a member of the Stubborn art group, Stanislav Diviš who had already exhibited here his paintings from the cycle “Two Worlds” in 2003. Diviš’s oeuvre develops in conceptual series that always focus on a certain subject. During the 1990s, he created his probably most ornamental cycle entitled “Spartakiads” to which he now returns by the series “Memories of the Spartakiads” – a variant on the old subject. Other painting cycles after which the entire exhibition received its name – “Fragments of Memory” and “Remainders” – originate from both the 1990s and present and focus on a concrete reality which is abstracted.
