Josev Vachal - Mystics and Visionaries

Váchal’s Prints Fifty prints by the legendary Czech artist and mystic, Josef Váchal, are on display in the Gallery Art in Chrudim, owned by Mr and Mrs Jelínek. Váchal was member of the generation of Decadents and, during his lifetime, was involved in many activities. He was a painter, sculptor, graphic artist, but also a writer and poet. His oeuvre was influenced by Art Nouveau and Expressionism. Váchal, however, worked in a distinctive, individual and pronounced style which was utterly unique in his period. He mainly experimented and created entire own books. All prints at the exhibition are available for sale. Josef Váchal, Mystics and Visionaries Galerie Art, Chrudim 28 July – 13 September 2008
