The exhibition of works by Jiří Kovanda, held in Klatovy, does not represent a traditional retrospective. It, however, displays the entire scope of his oeuvre – from documentations of his actions held in the 1970s and conceptual installations to his paintings and the most recent actions. The installation concept is intentionally chaotic and dense. Here, Kovanda’s objects mingle with works of his guests – girls. This concept, when works by other people intervene into his presentation – is absolutely relevant for Kovanda’s “parasite” work. The exhibition testifies to the artist’s world renown (he has been invited to numerous international art shows) as well as to his exceptional position which he holds on the Czech artistic scene. The exhibition will be accompanied by a printed catalogue containing many essays written by leading art historians. Guests: Silvina Arismendi, Nina Beier and Marie Lund, Sylva Brodiová, Veronika Dolanská, Ladislava Gažiová, Eva Humlová, Alena Kotzmannová, Eva Koťátková, Denisa Lehocká, Jitka Mikulicová, Barbora Motlová, Markéta Othová, Adéla Svobodová and Toyen.
