The fifth Berlin Biennial of Contemporary Art, held under the title “When Things Cast No Shadow”, opens on 15 June and occurs on four exhibition places: in the KW Institute for Contemporary Art in the former Eastern Berlin; in the Neue Nationalgalerie nearby the Potsdamer Platz; in the Skulpturenpark Berlin Zentrum on the spot of the former Berlin Wall, and in the Schinkel pavilion in Mitte. The biennial was curated by the Polish Adam Szymczyk and Elena Filipovic. Amongst the many participating artists is also Czech artists Kateřina Šedá.
