Young Austrian artist Thomas Albdorf introduces himself in Brno with an exhibition titled Former Writer.
Former Writer is a collection of photos of manipulated objects that have resulted from his walks through the city. He created objects from materials and remains he found and completed them with spots or lines. The objects were then photographed. The photos showing in Brno are Albdorf’s dissertation from Universität für Angewandte Kunst in Vienna.
In his work Albdorf deals with pervading borders of an object – a statue – installation and photography. He is mainly interested in the interconnection and friction of the surface of the mentioned media and a change of their perception, possibly their decontextualization, caused by a change of distribution modes with the arrival of the Internet.
