Nongkran Jompo Panmongkol - Collective Desires

Thai author Nongkran Jompo Panmongkol, who lives in Stockholm, analyzes in her short films the influence of the Western and European way of thinking on the dynamic, hasty and rapidly developing present in Southeast Asia. She compares the serenity and „boredom“ of Europe with the constantly changing face of Asia. Through critical tests, immediate emotions but also by using cold logic she analyzes the negative effects of the emancipated egoism of Western democracy on the otherwise naturally collective consciousness of Eastern civilizations.
