Malich | Prague, Czech republic | Jízdárna Pražského hradu, Správa Pražského Hradu | Karel Malich | 01/02 - 08/05/13
Malich's work is full of light, positive energy and discoveries. In Czech art this artist is comparable to František Kupka, the world-renowned founder of abstraction. Malich’s work is also world-class, which was obvious to the founders of exhibitions who invited him in 1967 to the Guggenheim Museum in New York and in 1989 to Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris.
The extensive exhibition at the Riding School of the Prague Castle confirms his reputation. It contains some three hundred works, ranging from revolutionary wire sculptures, to reliefs, objects and pastels from the period of the last fifty years. The creator of the dynamic architectural design of the exhibition is Malich's student Federico Díaz.
