Author of pictures, installations and objects has discovered a new medium for himself, the photography. Through the fresh eyes of the observer not burdened by the history of photography, he watches the world that originates right now. We do not perceive things we are used to. Vilém Kabzan as if he turned this rule over: the more usual, the more perceptible. From his point of view, absolute probability changes into viewers´ commotion, or visual joy. The range of our perspectives changes. There is nothing new or surprising anymore. Therefore, it is astonishing that the author’s obvious natural lyricism is not perceived as irony.
Information technologies have changed the world so much that his pure visual catching without other social, conceptual or political aspects may seem to us impossible. It is impossible to visualize world like it is. We are not sure what we can see. Vilém Kabzan´s pictures bring all observers some certainty. In connection with his contemporary production, it is possible to speak about the concepts that were depreciated by postmodernism. Flower, beauty, rainbow, and felicity.
By the means of photography we even enter the history of art. Landscapes, still lives, industrial compositions recall famous classic paintings by their atmosphere, intention or accident of chosen view, and by their treatment.
In this digital period, we may be everywhere in one moment, but at the same time nowhere. Kabzan´s pictures of reality keep us in one specific place. We see something charming and we feel that we really live for a while.
